A new "Non Compliance Fee" for all stores not upgraded to the current release of Miva Merchant. This new fee will take effect Feb 15th. Visa and Mastercard are requiring that your version of Miva Merchant be the current released version to combat criminal attempts to access credit card data.

The PCI Security Council drafts and enforces these rules on behalf of credit card companies to ensure that merchants secure their digital infrastructure. One of the major facets of the PCI Security requirements is the specific requirement for merchants to keep your software up to date.

The PCI guidelines require that you install general platform updates within 90 days of release; security related updates must be installed within 30 days of release.

Therefore, beginning on February 15, 2014, Miva Merchant will charge a "Non Compliance Fee" for stores that are out of date per the PCI Security Council's definition of out of date platform software.

Based on our current release dates, you will need to ensure that your online store at http://moldcheck.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?  is running Miva Merchant 5.5 Production Release 8 Update 12 on or before February 14, 2014 to avoid being assessed the Non Compliance Fee. Specifically, if your instance of Miva Merchant is not running on PR8 Update 12 as of February 15, 2014, we will be assessing you an additional monthly fee of $50, billed through your hosting company, until your store is brought up to date.

If you need assistance in updating your online store to the latest version, please contact your host or contact Miva Merchant via email at support@mivamerchant.com. We will be pleased to assist you in any way possible to get your store updated to the latest version of Miva Merchant.

Assuming your store is already up to date, no action is required on your part to avoid this fee. Please keep this timeline in mind as you plan future upgrades to your Miva Merchant storefront.
